Before You Cleanse
Before You Cleanse: 5 Things to Do First
If you’ve decided to start a parasite cleanse or detox protocol—pause.
The first step isn’t what you take.
It’s how you prepare your body to safely release what’s been stored for years.
Many people jump into detox too fast. They push pathogens out without opening their drainage. They stir up toxins without supporting their nervous system. The result? Flares, burnout, and fear.
Let’s change that. Let’s do it right.
1. Open Your Drainage Pathways
Your liver, bowels, lymph, and skin need to be able to move waste out.
If these pathways are sluggish, toxins from die-off will recirculate—making you feel worse.
Support your drainage with:
- Hydration and minerals
- Castor oil packs
- Magnesium or gentle bowel support
- Dry brushing or lymphatic massage
- Walking and light movement
2. Start Gentle Nervous System Support
If your body doesn’t feel safe, it won’t release. It will hold on.
Create internal safety before you start pushing toxins out.
Try:
- Nervine herbs like lemon balm or passionflower
- Deep breathing or vagus nerve work
- Time away from screens and noise
- Rest and regulated sleep
- Gentle journaling to connect with your body
3. Bring In a Binder
A binder is not the same as a laxative. It helps trap toxins and waste released during detox so your body can move them out.
Start with:
- Activated charcoal
- Bentonite clay
- Zeolite
- Fulvic or humic acids
Take binders on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes after herbs.
4. Strengthen Your Bowels
Cleansing stirs up waste—and if you’re not eliminating regularly, it builds up fast.
You should be having at least one full bowel movement per day before starting a cleanse.
Support with:
- Magnesium
- Herbal support like Triphala or senna (if short-term)
- Hydration
- Warm, nourishing food
5. Get Honest About Your Capacity
Before you cleanse, ask:
- Can I rest if my body needs it?
- Do I have space in my schedule for healing?
- Am I supported emotionally or spiritually?
- Is this the right time—or do I need to keep preparing?
Pushing into a cleanse before you’re ready is a setup for frustration. But cleansing when your body is prepped is powerful.
You don’t have to rush into healing.
You’re not behind. You’re not missing a window.Prepare with care. Cleanse with clarity.
Let your body trust you every step of the way.
